How to Replace an audi key replacement near me G28 Engine Speed Sensor

In this video, Charles the Humble Mechanic shows how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. This sensor is situated at the edge of transmission, above the flywheel gear. It sends a message to the ECU via a grey wire T55/49, then to the tachometer located on the instrument cluster.

Located on the edge of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends signals to ECU pin T55/49 using the grey wire. The ECU utilizes this information to control fuel and [Redirect Only] boost. It also sends a signal to the G5 tachometer in the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used to connect with the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu must know when the crankshaft is TDC and the location of the camshaft so it can start spark and injectors accordingly.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will display a P00160 code which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are not in sync and possibly indicating the chain stretching or a jump link on the upper chain of timing. The code won't show without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

Testing is a bit challenging since there are two connector pins and they perform different functions however the best method of testing it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read about 1000 ohms if the sensor is in full operation. If you're experiencing issues with this component, look for evidence of oil or coolant in the connector bay.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, while accelerating at full speed from the highway paytoll, i experienced a big cut in power like the engine is out of gas or injectors aren't firing at all. This morning i pull out the spark plugs. Three were drenched in gazoline, the fourth was dry. I put tissue over each hole in the injector and when i start the engine without sparks, the ones with gazoline jump right out. The fourth one remains shut. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55/30/55/48/55/14/55/48/ i get 0ohm. Therefore, i think the issue is elsewhere.

I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it is running fine with the G28 plugged in. However the intermittent misfire issue still occurs at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even when unplugged, still shows temperatures of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars but the actual pressure is zero.

I'm not sure what to do. I believe that I've ruled everything else out. I'm afraid i may have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please chime in! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 can be activated by a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. It is easy to find a spare audi key in a wrecking shop or parts store. Testing them is easy by putting your DMM in resistance mode and measure the resistance between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector's side up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black connector's end). They must be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

Our 20vt turbo (3B AAN, ABY, and ADU) engines have an ECU that has to know the speed and position of the crankshaft in order to make a decision about fuel injector timing etc. To do this, it uses a Crank Position Sensor (G4) and an Engine Speed Sensor (G28). If either of these go bad you will get codes on the diagnostic scanner which can cause the engine to shut down.

A malfunctioning G28 sensor can cause an inaccurate speed counter for your gearbox and a gearbox which shifts faster than normal, Audi A3 Key Replacement and/or an unfire when in gear. If you experience any of these issues, it is likely your sensor is deteriorating and should be replaced. They're cheap and easy to find especially when they're an Bosch model like ours. Alternatively, GM's version of this part is a good option.

5. Tachometer

A malfunctioning engine sensor can cause a myriad of issues within your vehicle. It is a crucial part of your audi a5 key Fob's transmission, as it sends information to the ECU about how fast or slow the car's crankshaft is rotating. When this sensor fails, it can affect the performance of the transmission as well as the other car's components.

The G5 engine sensor is located at the outskirts of the transmission, just above the flywheel ring. It transmits an electrical signal through an uncolored wire to the ECU pin T55/49. The ECU uses this signal to control the flow of fuel and boost and also to timigrate. It also transmits it to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster. You can check replacement key for audi a3 sensor failure by examining the continuity from the sensor to the tachometer. Additionally, you can check continuity between pin T55/49 of the ECU and pin T6a/1 of the instrument cluster (trace [79]) and between pin T6a/1 and pin T26a/12. You should detect an average resistance of 1000 ohms in these areas. This is a standard part that is found across the audi a4 key replacement 80 100 200, classicalmusicmp3freedownload.com UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC through the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU, so the best parts could be found in wrecking yards.g28-car-keys-logo-white-green.png
