It's a bit tricky to test since there are different connector pins, and they all have different functions. The best method for doing this is by measuring the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is operational, it should be reading approximately 1000 ohms. 2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating at full speed from the highway paytoll, i experienced massive power loss as if the engine was running out of gas or the injectors aren't firing anymore. This morning i pull out the spark plugs, 3 were soaked with gazoline and the 4th one was dry. When I crank the engine with no sparks i put tissue on the top of each of the injector holes, the 3 drenched with gazoline pop out, but the 4th one stays shut. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I found zero ohm. So i assume the problem is elsewhere.
I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car is able to start if the G28 is disconnected and it runs perfectly when it is plugged in but it still has the intermittent misfire issue at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even if it is not plugged in, shows an ice temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars but the actual pressure is 0.
I don't know what to do. I feel like i've pretty much ruled everything else out. I'm worried that i might have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please chime in! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump on the g28 is activated by a signal sent from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 and they both work in the 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a salvage yard or in a local parts store. Testing them is easy by putting your DMM in resistance mode and take measurements between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector's side up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black connector's side).
