Summary

Palworld _ may have taken the world by storm, but it's still missing some major features that could make it so much better. All the core mechanics that make up its distinct gameplay loop seem to be there: monster collecting, base building, and boss battling are all present, even if _Palworld is still prone to occasional errors . But for the most part, these pale in comparison to the missing features, and could even be considered hidden Palworld mechanics that improve the overall experience .

Of course, Palworld is still in early access. It has its issues, but the current iteration of Palworld is decidedly not the finalized version of the game. It has a long road ahead of it, filled with quick bug fixes, big content updates, and major balance changes. While developer Pocket Pair, Inc. has played somewhat coy about its plans for the future, it's easy enough to see the direction Palworld is headed in, just judging by its current state and its inspirations. However, one vital gameplay feature should be prioritized above all others.

Palworld Needs Dedicated Multiplayer Servers On All Platforms

Currently On Steam, But Not On PC Game Pass Or Xbox

Even after the official early access release and the first string of updates, Palworld _ still doesn't have dedicated multiplayer servers on all platforms . In the PC version purchased via Steam, starting a new game of _Palworld provides three options: single-player, locally hosted multiplayer, and public multiplayer servers. What this means is that, if someone wants to start a game of Palworld with multiple people, they have two options on the Steam release. They can either create a private world, inviting up to three friends, or join a public server with up to 31 strangers.

However, boot up the Xbox version of Palworld , or a PC copy obtained via Game Pass, and there'll only be one multiplayer option: " Join Multiplayer Game (Invite Code ) ." Players can only create or join private servers in the Xbox/Game Pass version of Palworld , which detracts significantly from the experience. This is done by sharing randomly generated passwords with anyone planning to join the server.

Public servers are generally the superior option for survival games like Palworld . A private server can be nice for a focused, friendly experience, while a public one can be chaotic, and lead to interesting opportunities for competition or collaboration. A public server may run more smoothly for all players, while private servers put more of a burden on the host's PC. Public servers are available 24/7, whereas private server worlds become unavailable whenever the host logs out. Overall, each option has its pros and cons, but it'd be nice to at least have a choice on all platforms.

For what it's worth, Pocket Pair has confirmed that universal, dedicated multiplayer servers will be a part of Palworld _ in the future. On the game's official Discord server, Pocket Pair has addressed demand for the feature, saying it's under construction. However, the decision isn't totally up to the developer. Pocket Pair representatives say that negotiations are ongoing - presumably between the developer and Microsoft - to get public servers up and running on all platforms. But for the time being, the lack of this feature makes the Game Pass release of _Palworld an inferior version - or does it?

Public Palworld Servers Are Pointless Without PvP

But even in the Steam version, **Palworld 's public multiplayer servers can't reach their full potential without PvP ** . Across all its multiplayer modes, Palworld doesn't currently have any player-versus-player mechanics. Players can help each other fight bosses, build bases, and catch Pals, sure, but they can't do battle themselves. Considering how central PvP is to both of Palworld 's major inspirations - survival games like Ark and monster-battling RPGs like Pokémon - that's a surprising omission, and one that could completely change the game.

In Ark: Survival Evolved and its enhanced remake Survival Ascended , PvP is a core part of the experience in multiple game modes. In its default survival mode, Ark 's PvP creates competition, and it would do the same in Palworld . There's a limited amount of space available, and players must fight to obtain and defend their resources. Attacking and defending bases is a major part of the gameplay and, while it's not always fair, it certainly keeps things interesting. The need for effective base placement and arrangement adds an extra degree of strategy to the game.

Since Palworld has similar base-building and destroying mechanics, it's easy to see how a similar formula could be implemented here. Base raids are already a part of Palworld , but they're only perpetrated by easily routed AI enemies. Imagine how much more interesting these raids would be if they were undertaken by living rivals, who could coordinate and adjust their strategies in real time. Ark 's popular Survival of the Fittest game mode could even have a place in Palworld , with a battle royale structure in which players are limited to the Pals and resources they can find in a limited time.

Meanwhile, in Pokémon , PvP takes place in the form of turn-based monster battles. Of course, things would be slightly different in Palworld , which uses real-time combat and www.Palworldhub.Com Pals controlled by AI. However, monster battles in Palworld make just as much sense, if not more. Players wouldn't have to be limited to one-on-ones; mismatched battles and chaotic free-for-alls would be thrilling. Palworld could even develop its own version of the Pokémon PvP meta.

Dataminers have even discovered a terrifying Palworld mechanic that would make PvP truly unique. Palworld contains code designed for **something called a " Radar Sphere ," which would allow players to catch other players' Pals ** . So during a raid, it wouldn't be just resources and infrastructure at stake - it'd also be the Pals themselves. This would likely have to be mitigated with low capture rates for Radar Spheres, but even so, a raid would be infinitely tenser with the addition of Pal-stealing mechanics.

Much like public multiplayer servers, PvP is confirmed to be coming to Palworld at some unknown point in the future. It'll include an arena at the very least, but more open PvP modes may eventually be introduced, too. Again, the game is still in early access, and it's impossible to say exactly what PvP will look like at this early stage. However, some inferences can be drawn from datamined details and similar titles. There are many changes yet to come to _Palworld _ , but until they're here, players will just have to wait and see.
